Original Recipes
Modern & Classic Filipino Dishes
So what is Filipino food and what can you expect from Pyesta’s mix of classic and contemporary Filipino dishes?
Ours is a relatively new but well-respected member of the international foodie scene. We have many different cooking styles from our beautiful islands, plus historical influences from Spain, the USA and even China.
Essentially it’s an east meets west mix of sweet, sour, salt and generous seasoning with a slight sour note from vinegar.
For a couple of examples, there’s our national dish, Adobo – a savoury, tangy dish made with chicken, pork (+ our vegan mushroom version) that’s been marinated in vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, and other spices.
Another popular dish is sisig – a hot sizzling mix of pork and vegetables. As the late great Anthony Bourdain said, ‘possibly the best thing you could ever eat with a cold beer’
We have a good selection of vegan and gluten free options – try out our ginita’ang kalabasa. Squash and beans cooked in a coconut milk sauce, seasoned with vegan ‘fish’ sauce for that umami hit.
And of course, you can’t forget about the famous Filipino dessert, halo-halo, which is a colourful and refreshing mix of shaved ice, ube ice cream, sweet beans, fruits, and other toppings.
At Pyesta, you’ll find all these dishes and more, served with a genuine smile and a warm welcome. So if you’re looking to try something new and exciting, come and experience the joy of Filipino food and hospitality at Pyesta Filipino Restaurant in Cheltenham.

Great food and great atmosphere! Staff was extremely nice, made out evening for sure!
The food was amazing - I would recommend sharing with someone cause the portions are big for one person and you can always try more food that way.
They have karaoke in the evening on Friday and it just made our night.

The food is really tasty and seems really authentic. The staff are really friendly and helpful and you can tell the owner prides herself in her recipes and service. Would highly recommend any of the dishes to be honest as they are all delicious! By far my favourite was the vegan curry though and I’m not even vegan!

The restaurant was very new and the staff were great! The food was lovely but some of them we didn’t really know how to eat them so will be great to have some description on how to eat them. We also felt it could have been a bit more quantity for the price as well. Having some Pilipino drinks will be even nicer as well. The staff kept coming to ask if we wanted anything else which I think once would have been enough. Other than this great place and lovely atmosphere :)!
